I have been watching the green lantern animated series for a while. I really like the style and look of the show. I was wondering if my group could adopt the style and tone of this 3d animation. I'll post images to give you a better look. It looks simple but really neat and clean. Something i believe would fit perfectly for our shot movie.

E&E market research.

My idea is to collaborate with a sound student to create sound tracks for the animation and promote them via internet. People seem to get hooked on music, and sound tracks can be the bait to lure them into the movie that my group is creating. We can then create a short teaser trailer and circulate it around video sites and promote the movie in that sense around the web. For more exposure, comic book expos and anything to do with animation well house our third market research strategy. By giving out flyers and C.Ds holding the teaser trailer plus extra little features to it as well.

I also did an early stage poster for the short movie.

From Ozzi's concept, i proceeded to try and model the male character so that the idea would be more
apparent to the gorup.

This is my version of how the story would go.. This is only for this term. Next term, the group will develop it even more.

Shot 1) A space ship flies through the clouds with a slow descent onto the surface of the growing planet.

Shot 2) A boy comes out from the ship looking weary and exhausted and collapses to the ground.

Shot 3) The boy tilts his head up towards the sky while still being on the ground. He see’s another ship descending at high speed making an emergency landing in a region where he is.

shot 4) He gets to where the ship lands, looking down at the individual getting out.

(The ship created a crater from impact)

Shot 5) Its a female that he knows and she’s exhausted, resting on the ship’s surface for support.

Shot 6) He comes to her aid helping her to stand on her feet while in that same shot another ship is seen present in the distance.

Shot 7) You see a fleet of ships flying through the clouds.

Shot 8) The fleet flies above the girl and boy’s heads to the direction of the generator.

shot 9) The massive generator is seen in the ground with the ships hovering above and around it.

Shot 10) The fleet of ships tries to yank the generator from the root of the planet in a telepathic way, bringing it up off the ground mid air.

Shot 11) Rocks and debris begins forming around the generator and used as an attack against the fleet of ships.

Shot 12) The girl and the boy’s backs are facing the camera while they are looking up at this whole event.. It cuts and you see the title (growing planet)

I took a simple approach to it.

In a way, you kind of want this to be a teaser so that people would want to see more.

The questions that would be asked is:

Who are these kids and why are they exhausted.

Who are the fleet of ships and the object their trying to yank out of the ground.

This is a start of a new unit with new ideas and expectations. Ozzi came up with character concepts and a storyline. The task for each individual in our group is to come up with a storyboard from our own perspective and merge it into a final piece with each specific bits of our storyboards combined ready for a short and quick animatic.
